website evaluations

Evaluating a website should really not be a new concept. It's just an extension of what we already do with other print sources. You want a source or resource to be from a reliable author, the information to be accurate, and the format to be easy to use. This is the same for a book, an article, or a website. Even though I'd never evaluated a website in detail before, this is just a new twist on an old favorite!

This website has a tutorial on how to evaluate websites that goes through a checklist of how to evaluate a website. It goes through how to look for an author and how to take the audience into consideration when choosing a website to use for class. It also shows how to look for bias in content of any particular websites.

  1. I really liked the site you found for website evaluation. It's great that it walks you through each page asking questions and gets people involved in the process of evaluating websites.
